...was trained in International Tourism from the basics to the professional level. That career gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world. Thanks to the know-how he gained in avocational Electronic Data Processing (EDP), during the pre-PC age, he was also employed as a supervisor of the EDP Operational Planning and Workflow organizations of several tourism firms. Having gained valuable experience in marketing and sales, he was then employed by a software-development firm, which specialized in tourism. In that position, he was responsible for organizing Communication and Sales Strategy. During his second carreer in the media business (Radio and Television) he undertook avocational studies in Media Marketing at BAW Bayer Akademie für Werbung (Academy of Advertising) based in Munich, Germany. During his third career he worked as a freelance Marketing and Sales Advisor for the management of an Internet software developer, specializing in Editorial Systems for Content Management. In the mid-nineties he was a publisher for the German WEKA-Verlag (a major publishing house in Germany). There, he published the „PC-Veranstaltungsberater“ (PC Events Advisor), which allowed him to merge his know-how in corporate events with his knowledge of databases. Today, he works as a freelance adviser for virtual and real marketing-communications and sales. Hans-Rainer Mayer is married and lives in Bavaria. He is keen on aquarell painting and loves to play the guitar. Being an ex ice hockey pIayer, he is now a hockey referee during the winter months.
